Hats off!

To the grads of 2014!

Even though I attended a different college, I do have a small sense of pride and attachment when it comes to SDSU and UCSD, probably because they represent my home city and I love hearing people remarking about how beautiful the campuses are.  I was thrilled to shoot some photos at the iconic Hepner Hall at SDSU, and Heather made the job easy.  I'm not gonna lie--the weather was terrible that day and for an amateur photographer it was quite the challenge.  It was completely overcast and I even thought it was going to rain during our shoot.  It was windy and it was cold and my eyes were already struggling before I put them up to my viewfinder.  It was so hard to control my exposure, and on top of that, we weren't the only people trying to take photos in this spot at that very time!  After waiting our turn and adjusting my settings over and over and over, we finally got in a few good shots before calling it a night.  Ironically enough, blue skies rolled in just as I began driving home.  Go figure!  (At least we had a fun time.)  Thank you, Heather, for bearing with me and for being such a natural!

What's In My Bag?

I notice more and more when talking with fellow photographers they quickly want to know what gear you use.  A friend of mine made one of these a while ago and since I had some time to kill I thought, why not?  So, here's what I've got.  Man, do I wish I could own a few sweet L-series lenses, or one of the new 5D Mark III bodies, but until more funds start rolling in, I'll work with what I've got! ;)

And in other news, I'm totally excited for this weekend because I will be attending Canon's EOS Discovery Day!  I actually heard about it during a commercial break on the radio while I was driving and I was so incredulous I practically had to pull over.  "Photographers and Canon lovers, today is your lucky day!" More about that later, I'm sure!
